Majority Of City Residents Believe The Mayor Is Doing A Good Job!
Williamsville, New York - Goldhaber Research Associates, LLC (GRA) announces that a majority of City of Buffalo residents feel the Mayor is doing a great job in office. GRA measured four facets of the Mayor’s performance: his overall performance, his vision, his ability to implement his vision, and his ability to tackle important issues facing the City.
Across the board City residents responded very favorably; on average, close to two-thirds of all respondents rated the Mayor's overall performance and vision for the city as Good or Excellent. However, while a majority still feels he is able to implement his vision and tackle important issues, there was about a 10% drop in his support from his overall performance and vision ratings. Apparently, at least 4 in 10 Buffalo residents do not think Mayor Brown can implement his vision or tackle important issues such as the economy, crime, and housing. This is even more pronounced among White residents where close to fifty percent rated him negatively in these two areas (compared to approximately 20% of African American residents who rated him negatively in these two areas).
GRA, the area’s largest market and opinion research firm, conducted the poll, which surveyed 411 City of Buffalo residents. The poll was conducted April 19-24, 2007. At the 95% confidence level, this poll has a margin of error of +/- 4.8%.
